Perhaps a book about nothing
is everything you need.
If you haven't noticed yet, creative and writer Seema Sharma is fascinated about nothing. Earlier this year she launched Write Nothing In Here; a doodle and sketchbook for your daily notes – which is full of prompts, assignments, fun facts and quotes from the world of science, arts and philosophy – about exploring the virtues of nothingness.
Seema now launched her second book 'Read Nothing In Here'; which is an unscientific exploration into the meaning, function, history and misuse of the word nothing. In 21 entertaining chapters you'll be learning everything about nothing.
Stuff that people donated to nothing.
In a world where everything seems to have a price, Seema and her freelance partner Melissa Lissone wanted to know whether it’s possible to get stuff for nothing. The idea was to get a wealth of valuable as well as useless things for free via auction sites, simply by asking. The result are these painted still lifes made of old and new objects. Seema: "We want to thank all the sweet people (minus the cranky grandpa) who contributed stuff as well as Cameranu, Harolds Art Supplies, Yoyo Fresh Tea Bar, studio Marawael and Lomography Netherlands – a big thanks for nothing to all of you."
As a freelance creative in advertising, Seema likes to challenge people to focus on the gaps, the spaces in between and all the things that ordinary thinkers wouldn’t care to notice – nothing.
Her books are availabe online and in stores. Have fun with nothing!
